Community kitchen for 300 Children of Farmers in Angat, Bulacan

Angat, Bulacan

Feeding Program

Community leaders and volunteers respond to hunger among Filipino children in their barangay. They set up a community kitchen to cook daily nutritious lunch meals for 300 kids.

In the Angat kitchen, meals are packed in lunch boxes and delivered to the houses of each beneficiary. The kitchen is also a hub for bayanihan where volunteers, local government units, partners and leaders are essential for the program to work.

You can feed one child in Brgy. Encanto, Angat, Bulacan for only Php 20.00 per meal. The community kitchen aims to provide meals for at least 120 days to kids ages 1 – 12 years old.

Hunger, especially among children, is a significant roadblock that the poor have to overcome on a daily basis. Through Kusina ng Kalinga (Care Kitchens), we build caring communities for our young. It is where lunchboxes or plates don’t just contain meals, but also carry the commitment to care together until no child is left hungry. This bayanihan effort is powered by Kusina ng Kalinga (KnK), Gawad Kalinga’s anti-hunger program.

When an act of kindness multiplies, it helps more people. Everyone can help, no matter how small or big. As long as it comes from the heart, we can persuade more people to help. Financial scarcity is not an obstacle to helping those who are in need.

Coronavirus cases in Bulacan caused a great deal of hunger as the country was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The KnK and the B1G1 have made a call to action to help feed the 800 kids at GK Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan. The Global Business-Giving Initiative (B1G1) has been partnering with Gawad Kalinga for a long time. The founder of B1G1, Ms. Asami Sato, had a dream: what if every business in the world became a giving business? This inspired them to help the non-profit organization in the country. In collaboration with Gawad Kalinga, they've been supporting initiatives to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable people and families. B1G1 aims to ensure that no child is left hungry and hopes that every child will have access to quality education, healthcare, equal human rights, and opportunities to become the best they can be and live fulfilling lives. By working together hand in hand, we can achieve this inspiring vision.

We are extending our heartfelt gratitude to B1G1 and to all those who made this initiative a reality. Your selflessness has made a significant impact on the lives of 800 kids in GK Enchanted Farm. May your kindness inspire others to join in the noble cause of leaving no child behind.
